650 antennas connect Frankfurt University Hospital
We’ll be back for another report. Frankfurt back.
A high-performance 5G mobile network has been installed and put into operation throughout the University Hospital, with a total of 650 new antennas installed at a cost of approximately 4.5 million euros. According to the hospital, there are no dead zones there anymore.
This means that employees can be reliably contacted anywhere in the huge facility. According to the information, data from ultrasound examinations or X-rays, for example, can now be transmitted to colleagues throughout the hospital in real time.
On this basis, the state of Hesse wants to develop additional services. In the future, experts will be able to intervene and provide advice on complex medical decisions in the hospital. And a medical practice can also bring in specialists from the hospital, for example, to communicate with patients.
