Thirty years ago, Garth Brooks began what would become the largest concert tour on the planet. No one defined ’90s country more completely than Garth, and now he’s bringing every hit he’s ever made back to the arenas where it all began.
Fresh from a historic sold-out performance in London’s Hyde Park, Garth Brooks announces today Blame it on the My Roots tour — a full-scale return to the arenas that made him a legend, including the return of the iconic drum module and a production that changed live music forever. The tour starts with consecutive nights at Indianapolis, Indiana August 21st and 22nd at Gainbridge Fieldhouse.
Beginning in 1996, the arena tour that became known as the Drum Pod Tour redefined what a live performance could be and what it could leave behind. Recordings made from those evenings became Double Live, which is now certified 25 million copies by the RIAA and is the best-selling live album in the history of recorded music. The same groundbreaking tour brought back-to-back CMA Entertainer of the Year awards and two Entertainer of the Decade awards. Thirty years later, the Drum Pod is back, bringing with it the era of retro arenas once again.
“Going back to arenas means putting the stadium show in a box,” Brooks says. “The excitement is multiplied by proximity. Every place is great. It’s personal.”
Garth doesn’t just perform; he writes it down. Blame it on the My Roots tour will serve as a basis for Killer Livean innovative approach to live performance recording that continues Brooks’ tradition of capturing history in real time.

The show has seating available both at the back of the stage and in the circle, with all seats reserved. There are no advance sales or advance box office sales.
