I can’t tell you the full reason because I don’t really know myself, but the meeting between Switzerland and Colombia in the 1/8 finals of the World Cup is an incredible feeling.

It’s a good job then when they meet at the World Cup Round of 16 stage. Both teams have impressed so far and the European representative is slowly entering the tournament. However, they are now looking at the level we have come to expect from an experienced tournament team.

Colombia’s four games were low scoring games. Uzbekistan are the only team to find a way out of this defense when they equalized in their first game, although they keep losing 3-1.

In attack, they showed more than a team that managed to strike only twice in the last three matches. Only four teams recorded more shots, five on target, while the rest scored twice as many goals or more.

Like some other knockout stage competitions, this one is difficult to call, although I feel Switzerland are slightly better than their affordable price of 5/2 to win inside 90 minutes, along with 11/8 to reach the quarter-finals.

Instead, I’m more tempted by the odds hovering around 2/1 at OVER 9.5 MATCH STROKES PER COST. One of the reasons for this was Colombia’s previously mentioned attacking performances.

Colombia took nine places victory over DR Congo and eight in success over Ghana in the last round. Portugal game They had eight points for this match, but I’m still not convinced about their line-up.

It is clear that this is an attacking team. In truth, we shouldn’t be surprised by their stats based on qualifying results: no South American team had more shots or replies on target, and both were comfortably ahead of the next best players.

Finishing these chances was the problem and is the only thing holding me back from the tempting 27/20 with over 2.5 goals.

Switzerland have now returned at least five shots on target in three of their four World Cup matches, with four wins over Canadian outfit with the support of the home crowd.

Knockout football also takes into account the state of the game, with one team holding a small enough lead for 90 minutes to open up the attacking potential of the other. In moments of desperation, long range shots can add another one or two to the score.

At current prices, the best bet would be a double-digit hitting target.
