Anthony Albanese 'unequivocally' apologizes for saying he fucked Kylie Minogue during a podcast

Prime Minister Anthony Albanese has “unequivocally” apologized for saying he fucked Kylie Minogue during a game on a podcast.

In an episode of the Bush Deep podcast published on Friday, host Nikki Osborne asked the Prime Minister to play the game “Fuck, Marry, Date”.

“Kylie Minogue, Nicole Kidman or Rhonda Burchmore?” Ms Osborne asked the Prime Minister.

Mr Albanese did not respond at first and said he had “just gotten married” and was “only six months old”.

But when asked what would happen if his marriage broke up, Mr Albanese said: “Oh Kylie, I see.”

“Would you marry Kylie, fuck her, and date her?” asked Ms. Osborne.

“All of the above,” Mr. Albanese responded.

During the podcast, Mr Albanese also commented on his sex life with wife Jodie Haydon and said the South Sydney Rugby League team’s victory was a good aphrodisiac.

The Prime Minister issued a statement of apology through his office on Monday.

“I definitely apologize for the comments,” he said.

Women parliamentarians condemned comments

Strong Community MP Zali Steggall said the comments were “totally inappropriate” and said Mr Albanese should never have been involved in the game.

“He needs to learn to fight back, lead by example and call it sexist,” she said.

Shadow communications minister Sarah Henderson also condemned the prime minister, saying: “Australians deserve better.”

“Rather than politely decline to participate, Mr Albanese has fallen into the ditch with his sleazy remarks, which demonstrate extreme poor judgment at a time when Labor’s credibility is crumbling,” she said.

“Mr Albanese’s crude dressing room talk makes a mockery of the Labor Party’s claim to be a champion of women. How low can this Prime Minister stoop? Australians deserve better than this.”

Government spokeswoman Tanya Plibersek has previously defended Mr Albanese’s record and said the Government has a strong record on women’s equality.

“I’m not going to comment on a podcast I haven’t heard. I heard him for a few seconds,” Ms. Plibersek said Monday morning, before Mr. Albanese apologized.

“If the Prime Minister says he’s a Kylie Minogue fan, then I think that puts him in line with millions of other Australians, including me.”

Acting Prime Minister Richard Marles, standing in for Mr Albanese on his diplomatic tour of the Pacific, told RN Breakfast the government was “absolutely committed” to increasing the role of women in society.

“From time to time we obviously do different interviews than the one we do now, but I think the other point to note here is that the government that is led by the prime minister is the first in history to have parity in terms of the number of men and women in the cabinet,” he said.

ABC News has contacted Kylie Minogue’s team and Ms Osbourne for comment.
