We asked you which players you watched at the World Cup that you think would be a great fit for Sunderland.
Here are some of your comments:
Colin: Johan Manzambi looks like a terrific player. Young, athletic, technically gifted, driven forward from midfield. This is exactly the image Sunderland are aiming for. Swiss national team player with huge potential. I wish we could make a move before the price goes through the roof.
Stephen: Jordan Bos from Feyenoord and Australia. Particularly impressed by the game against Turkey and is considered the fastest (and probably strongest) player at the World Cup.
He has had a fantastic season at Feyenoord and not only is he a great physical defender, he is also excellent in transition and provided his side with a lot of quality scoring chances last season.
Kate: Juventus’ Jonathan David – We need another striker who can hit double figures in the Premier League. David is strong, young and works well without the ball. This is in line with Sunderland’s thinking.
Merv: I’d pick Crisencio Summerville for Sunderland. He is a very gifted player but has great potential for further development and I think Regis le Bris is the coach best equipped to help him realize his full potential.
Julius: Canadian midfielder Jacob Schaffelburg from Los Angeles.
