Bayern already have a new striker on the horizon in Ismael Saibari. However, the Munich club appear to still be looking for creative attacking players and Martin Baturina is once again in the spotlight.

Bayern are making confident progress in planning their squad for the new season. According to ongoing media reports, the first two summer contracts – Ismael Saibari and Nathaniel Brown – have already been finalized. The Munich club are reported to be investing a total of over €100 million in both players.

However, planning for the Säbenerstrasse transfer does not appear to be completed yet.

Bayern continues to monitor Baturina

According to transfer expert Matteo Moretto, Martina Baturina remains among the players who have attracted the interest of the German record holders.

The Croatia international was already linked with Bayern before the World Cup began. Now this interest is said to continue. Apart from Bayern Munich, Tottenham Hotspur and Aston Villa were also reportedly interested in the 23-year-old.

However, the transfer will most likely not be easy at all. According to Moretto, Como has already received and rejected several offers totaling up to 55 million euros in recent weeks.

The Italian first division club are reportedly unwilling to let their playmaker go for less than €80 million.

Considering its current market value of around 30 million euros, this requirement seems very ambitious. However, Baturina further increased her value with strong performances at the World Championships.

Versatile striker

Baturina feels most comfortable in attacking midfield, but can also play on the left flank. It is this flexibility that makes him an attractive prospect for many top European clubs. At Bayern, his profile also generally corresponded to the requirements of Vincent Kompany.

However, the situation has changed due to the upcoming signing of a contract with Ismael Saibari. The Moroccan also brings great versatility to the attack and is expected to be used primarily in attacking midfield, as well as as a flexible option in attack.

In light of this, there is currently no immediate need for Bayern to invest another triple-digit million sum into their attack.

As such, whether Munich will step up their efforts to sign Baturina will likely depend largely on further developments in the transfer market, particularly potential departures and the club’s financial resources.

One thing is certain: there is clearly interest in the Croatian international. However, the high transfer fees to Como are likely to make transfers much more difficult at present.
