This time, the Indian team will take the field as the defending champions. At the last Asian Games (2023) in Hangzhou, China, India won the gold medal in women’s cricket by defeating Sri Lanka in the final. In such a situation, the team will have to retain the gold medal this time.
Along with experienced players, young faces also received a place in the team. The team includes players like Shefali Verma, Jemima Rodrigues, Deepti Sharma, Richa Ghosh, Renuka Thakur and Radha Yadav. There Mr. Kamalini, Bharti Phulmali, Shri Charani, Kranti Gaur and Nandini Sharma also got a chance.
However, the choice of the versatile Shreyanka Patil was kept conditional on her fitness clearance. Only if she receives medical clearance will she take part in the Asian Games with the team.
