Having put the T20 series defeat to Ireland behind them, the Indian team has now begun preparations for the tour of England. In this tour, 5 T20 matches and 3 ODI matches will be played between India and England. Team India will start a new life under the leadership of Shreyas Iyer while most eyes will be on 15-year-old Vaibhav Suryavanshi. If he gets a chance to make his debut, he will become India’s youngest cricketer, breaking the record of 36-year-old Sachin Tendulkar.
The tour of Ireland did not turn out as expected for the Indian team. The hosts suffered a big defeat and thrashed India 2-0 in the two-match T20 series. However, Team India has now put this defeat behind them and is ready for a big challenge against England. In this tour, five T20 International and three ODI matches will be played between the two teams. This series will be a great opportunity for the Indian team to make a comeback.
The most talked about person in the entire tour will be 15-year-old Vaibhav Suryavanshi. Vaibhav, who played brilliantly for Rajasthan Royals in IPL 2026, grabbed everyone’s attention with his performance. If he gets a chance to make his debut against England, he will become the youngest player to play international cricket for India. With a strike rate of over 237 in the IPL, the young batsman is expected to perform well even on England’s fast pitches.
The T20 series will begin on July 1. The first match will take place at 10 pm Indian time at the Riverside Ground in Chester-le-Street. The second T20 starts at 7pm on July 4 at Old Trafford in Manchester. The third match will take place on July 7 at Trent Bridge in Nottingham at 22:00.
Following this, the fourth T20 will be played on July 9 at 10 pm in Bristol. The fifth and final T20 tournament will take place on July 11 at 7:00 pm Indian time at the Utility Bowl in Southampton. This series will show how strong Team India can come back from their defeat in Ireland. After the T20 series, three ODI matches will also be played between the two teams. The first ODI will take place on July 16. The second match will take place on July 19. The third and final ODI will be played on July 22, ending India’s tour of England.

The Indian selectors have expressed confidence in the young players on this tour. Shreyas Iyer will be the captain in place of Suryakumar Yadav while Tilak Verma will be the vice-captain. The bowling responsibility will fall on the shoulders of experienced players like Arshdeep Singh, Mohammad Siraj and Varun Chakraborty.

Former England captain Michael Vaughan has also already advised his team to be careful regarding Vaibhav Suryavanshi. He believes such young batsmen are changing the style of T20 cricket and now even a score of 230 runs cannot be considered safe. In such a situation, all eyes will be on how Team India performs in the England tour and whether Vaibhav Suryavanshi can make a memorable start to his international career.
