The full UFC 329 lineup is in place after a late change saved the flyweight bout in the Conor McGregor vs. Max Holloway prelims.
After Aude Osborne suffered an injury that forced him out of his scheduled fight against Cody Durden, the UFC has found a suitable opponent for the American Top Team veteran. Fresh off a stellar first-round finish over Matt Schnell in early June, Alessandro Costa is quickly recovering to compete on July 11 when he faces Durden in the prelims.
Multiple people familiar with the promotion’s plans confirmed the news to MMA Fighting on Saturday following an initial report from AG Fight.
Of course, Costa also took the Schnell fight on short notice, but he certainly made the most of the opportunity with a lightning-quick knockout. Now Costa is trying to do it again after accepting a spot at UFC 329.
As for Durden, he also got his business back on short notice after taking a last-minute opportunity to fight Jafeel Filho in April and ultimately earning a unanimous decision victory. The win halted Durden’s four-fight skid as he got back on track ahead of his next fight in July.
Durden also revealed that he has been rewarded with a new four-fight contract with the UFC and has also agreed to a fight against Costa.
Durden vs. Costa will take place as part of the prelims, and the entire UFC 329 event will air live on Paramount+ on Saturday, June 11.
