In the next few days, the Kiev region and the capital will be covered by abnormal heat. The air temperature will rise to a record high of about 40°.
This was reported by the Ukrainian Hydrometeorological Center.
According to forecasters, due to the spread of hot air, severe heat is expected on June 29-30. The maximum temperature during the day will be 35-38°.
“Intense heat can complicate the work of energy, utility enterprises, railway and road transport, and negatively affect the livelihoods of the population,” the Ukrainian Hydrometeorological Center emphasized.
Heat in Ukraine – what is known
Forecaster Natalya Didenko warned that warming would intensify in Ukraine starting June 26. Already at the weekend it will develop into intense heat of +38°C and above. Dry weather is expected. The western regions will be the first to feel the heat wave.
Note that a heat wave is coming from Europe, which has already been suffering from very high temperatures this week. Although Ukraine has had moderate summer weather in recent days, starting June 27, due to the movement of the anticyclone over Central Europe, the synoptic situation will change dramatically.
