Thunderbirds reveal flight times and location for America’s 250th anniversary celebration in Las Vegas

US Air Force Thunderbirds will help kick off the Battle of Vegas in 2026.

The Elite Demonstration Squadron will perform a special flyover at the Las Vegas Ballpark at approximately 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, June 27, according to a charity softball official.

This is part of the special. America250 relay planned by Thunderbirds to the Las Vegas Valley on Saturday.

On Friday, the Thunderbirds released a full list of flyover times and locations:

  • 7:15 p.m.: Takeoff from Nellis Air Force Base.
  • 19:20–19:22: Las Vegas Strip from North to South Pass.
  • 7:23–7:25 p.m.: Las Vegas Strip south to North Pass.
  • 7:26 p.m.: North Las Vegas VA Medical Center.
  • 19:29: Lonely Mountain.
  • 7:30 p.m.: Las Vegas Ballpark.
  • 7:32 p.m.: Red Rock Canyon.
  • 7:34 p.m.: Mount Charleston.
  • 19:47: Hoover Dam.
  • 7:48 p.m.: Boulder City.
  • 8:00 p.m.: Landing at Nellis Air Force Base.

Although they will fly over Hoover Dam on Saturday, the large American flag will not be on display due to high winds predicted. On the morning of Tuesday, June 30, planes will make another flyover of the dam, heading to Washington for the Salute to America250 celebration.

Spectators are encouraged to enjoy the overpass from public viewing platforms throughout Southern Nevada while following local traffic and safety regulations.

According to Thunderbirds, all flight times are approximate and based on current data. Updates will be posted Saturday on the squadron’s social media accounts.

Las Vegas Raiders tight end Brock Bowers and Vegas Golden Knights reliever Reilly Smith will lead the teams in the annual Battle of Vegas softball game.

Proceeds from the event will benefit the Battle of Vegas Foundation and its community partners, including the Candlelighters Childhood Cancer Foundation of Nevada and Cure 4 The Kids Foundation, as well as other local organizations.
