CHICAGO (WLS) — Severe weather warnings for tornadoes spread across the Chicago area Monday afternoon.
A tornado warning is in effect for Cook and Will counties until 1:15 p.m. The alert for DuPage County has been canceled.
A severe thunderstorm warning is in effect for Cook and Will counties and Lake County (Indiana) until 1:30 p.m.
Large hail spotted in western suburbs amid tornado warning

The storms began late Monday morning, with quarter-size hail reported in some suburbs such as Clarendon Hills and potentially baseball-sized hail in Bolingbrook. Radar indicated a rotation in the Darien area around 12:15 p.m.
Heat index values in western parts of the Chicago area could exceed 110, while the rest of the region could see heat index values exceed 100, according to ABC7 Accuweather meteorologist Tracy Butler.

A heat warning is in effect for DeKalb, Grundy, La Salle and Livingston counties until Monday at 9 p.m.
A heat warning is in effect for Boone, Cook, DuPage, Kane, Kendall, Lake, McHenry and Will counties in Illinois and Lake, Newton, Jasper and Benton counties in Indiana until 9 p.m.
