Cercle Nautique Cévennes Alès and Nautic Club Nîmois, ranked 8th and 23rd nationally during the French Summer Open in Caen-en-Roussillon, won a total of fourteen medals.
The Gardois shone from July 17 to 22 in Caen-en-Roussillon (Eastern Pyrenees) during the French Open 50-meter swimming championship.
Second club in Occitania, Marine circle of the Cévennes-Alès finished 8th nationally (out of 214), with nine swimmers taking home 5 gold medals, 2 silver and 2 bronze.

The women’s 4×100 freestyle relay (Noelie Sandoval, Lali Martin, Chloe Varro Ibanez and Julia Radovici) won junior gold with a new Garda record (3’55”56, 3rd place in all categories).
Lali Martin, under 16, won gold in the 200m freestyle (2’05’51, Gard’s 16-year-old record) and 400m freestyle (4’26’68). She won bronze in the 800m freestyle (9’09’59).
Mailis Sagit also had an excellent harvest, winner of the 1500 freestyle in the under 16 category (2nd place in TC) with a result of 17’19”19 and silver in the 800 freestyle (9’04”86) and 400 freestyle (4’27”).
Personal bests and Occitania record
Giulia Radovici won bronze in the 200m freestyle in 2’04”15, beating her personal best by more than two seconds. Personal best also in the 100m freestyle (58ft 18m, 8th place in A final).
Noely Sandoval made two A finals in all categories, finishing 7th in the 400m medley and a personal best (5’06”19) and 8th in the 200m medley (2’23”40).
Lucas Moreno Issenmann broke three personal bests and achieved results in the 200m butterfly, winning the U17 final in 2’02”71, a time that placed him 18th in France in the event.
Also look out for 14 year old Occitani Luca Gill’s record in the 100m backstroke in 1’01”42 and Camille Chetui’s 4th place in the 400m medley final (4’49”) under 16, while his training partner Giovani Callamni finished second in the 400m freestyle D final with an excellent time – 4’12”62.
Five medals for Nimes
Nîmes Nautical Clubfor its part, rose to 23rd place in the national ranking with 5 medals won by its five representatives, Matéo Grégoire-Charmasson and Faustin Penard, missing in Hungary with the French team to participate in the Junior European Open Water Championships.
Pablo Morales and Margot Penard performed well
Five medals, including three for Pablo Morales in the U16 category, 1st place in the 400m freestyle with a score of 4’02”63 and in the 800m freestyle with a score of 8’23”67, 2nd place in the 1500m freestyle with a score of 16’22”.
While still under 16, Margot Penard won two other medals: gold in the 400m medley in 5’05’58 and bronze in the 200m medley in 2’24’31.
Sasha Pavelic won his 17 year old final in the 400m individual medley with a time of 4’38”37 and placed 4th and 5th in the 200m individual medley and 200m backstroke.
Mathis Fronto reached the 200m medley A final in all categories (7th place in 2’09”10). Chloe Gascuel finally secured her place in the B final of the 100m backstroke (7th U16 in 1’08”33).
