As Real Madrid move closer to completing one of their most high-profile signings of the summer – the signing of Ivorian Yann Diomande – Portuguese coach Jose Mourinho received less than encouraging news after a player suffered an injury that will keep him out for several weeks, complicating the start of White House’s preparations for the new season.

Ivorian Leipzig star Yann Diomande is now close to a move to Real Madrid after the Spanish club agreed all the details of the transfer.

According to press reports, Real Madrid are set to officially announce the player’s signing tomorrow Monday as part of their squad strengthening ahead of the 2026-2027 season.

On the other side, Fabrizio Romanospecialists in the European transfer market for players and coaches reported that Real Madrid player Thiago Pitarch suffered a knee injury during his first training session with the team.

Romano said: “Thiago Pitarch will miss six weeks after picking up a knee injury during his first training session with Real Madrid.”

He added: “Forecasts indicate that the player will be sidelined until early September due to an injury sustained during team training.”

Real Madrid began their preparations for the new season (2026-2027) by playing their first friendly match under Mourinho, facing Alcorcon at the Alfredo Di Stefano Stadium in a match played behind closed doors as part of the team’s preparation for the upcoming season.
