The Mediawan group, led by Pierre-Antoine Capton, will become a shareholder in H2O, Cyril Hanouna’s production company. It will draw on the French group’s catalog and formats, such as Love is Blind or Married at First Sight, two shows developed by North Road, the independent American studio created by Peter Chernin with a focus on film (Le Mans 66 and Behind the Scenes, the event film of the year) and streaming-for-TV production recently acquired by the French audiovisual entertainment giant.
H2O and Cyril Hanouna, whose audience has become the television success of the year, discussed this with the numerous French and foreign groups wishing to gain a foothold or establish themselves in the increasingly competitive audiovisual production sector.

Lots of meetings for M6
This merger also strengthens Mediawan’s position within the M6 group, where Cyril Hanouna works. In addition to “Tout Beau Tout Neuf”, his daily show on W9 and afternoon show on Fun Radio, he is expected to produce and host prime time on M6, including a political magazine during the presidential campaign. M6 and Mediawan have been long-standing film partners, notably through Chapter 2, founded by Dimitri Rassam, which became part of Mediawan in 2018 and, together with Pathé and M6, produced The Count of Monte Cristo and The Three Musketeers, three films with strong international influence.

H2O, founded in 2010, maintains its independence and governance. Having bought Banijai’s stake in his company in the spring, Cyril Hanouna is once again joining forces with a major player in global manufacturing. For its part, Mediawan today unites about a hundred production companies on five continents.
