In view of the growing crowd of protesters and security in Jantar Mantar and surrounding areas of Delhi, DMRC has decided to close 16 metro stations. Regarding this DMRC decision, a statement was made by Chief Justice Surya Kant. Surya Kant said that if the Supreme Court metro station does not open this afternoon, the Supreme Court will intervene in the matter.

SCBA demanded

Please be advised that Supreme Court Bar Association President Vikas Singh raised the issue before Justice Surya Kant on Thursday. Replying to this question, Justice Surya Kant said that if the Supreme Court metro station does not open this afternoon, he will take action.

Speaking on this occasion, Supreme Court Bar Association President Vikas Kumar Singh said that lawyers and staff can be properly screened at the Supreme Court Metro, but the metro station cannot be closed. Vikas said the closure of the metro station is affecting the work of lawyers and staff of the Supreme Court. He stated that lawyers and employees need to be checked inside the metro itself to ensure there are no problems.

Order to open the metro station before lunch

Speaking on the matter, CJI Surya Kant said that if nothing is done to open by lunchtime, then I will intervene. He also said that he has directed the judges that if any lawyer is unable to appear today due to protests and related issues, then no order should be passed against him.
