Singer Luis Represas has died. Singer Trovante was 69 years old and the victim of a long illness. This news was confirmed by the agency Sons em Trânsito.
In 2026, Luis Represas celebrated the 50th anniversary of his career and planned performances with his regular band, as well as as a solo artist, to celebrate his creative longevity.
During these decades of his career, Luis Reprexas was also awarded the Commander’s Order of Merit by the Portuguese State in 2005.
The statement also recalled that after fighting for the Timorese cause, the singer was invited by the then President of the Republic, Jorge Sampaio, to accompany him on an official visit to Timor-Leste, and was subsequently awarded the Medal of the Order of Timor-Leste by President Taur Matan Ruak.
On the sporting side, Luis Reprexas was an avid Belenenses fan, taking part in several of the Lisbon club’s events.
