However, the Azores High, a semi-persistent large area of high pressure over the North Atlantic that can block weather fronts from reaching the UK, is likely to be nearby. This will make conditions drier in the south, although not necessarily completely.
Temperatures are likely to remain above seasonal norms, particularly in England and Wales, where further heatwaves or heatwaves are possible in early August.
