Two American soldiers were killed in Jordan on Friday in Iranian ballistic missile and drone attacks, and one soldier remains missing in action. This information was provided by US military officials.
According to US Central Command (CENTCOM), four US soldiers were taken to Jordanian hospitals for treatment. After treatment, he was discharged from the hospital. At the same time, those soldiers who were slightly injured returned to duty.
However, the US military has not released the identities of the slain soldiers, the location of the incident or other information related to the attack.
Meanwhile, on the instructions of President Donald Trump, America once again launched airstrikes against Iran on Saturday evening. Centcom confirmed this.
The attacks, the eighth consecutive night, are aimed at further weakening Iran’s ability to pose a threat to commercial shipping in the Strait of Hormuz, CENTCOM said.
The statement said the attacks were intended as an immediate response to Iranian Revolutionary Guards who attacked American soldiers in Jordan last night. However, not much information was provided on this matter.
The development comes as tensions between America and Iran have risen again over the past week. America renewed the blockade of Iranian ports, and Iran closed the Strait of Hormuz.
The truce between the two countries was broken less than a month later.
