Richmond hosts premiership contenders Hawthorn at the MCG for the start of Sunday’s three AFL football matches.
The Tigers are seeking their third win of the season as they take on the third-place Hawks.
Gold Coast later build on their fading finals hopes with a vital home game against the Western Bulldogs before Round 19 concludes with Essendon hosting GWS at Docklands.

Mitch Lewis wins a free-kick moments before the final siren but misses his set-piece, so he has to settle for three goals in his first season.
Judging by the score, this match was all about Hawthorn and they look like they are on course for a nice little win with a percentage increase.
The Hawks have 118 disposals to the Tigers’ 81 and 18 in the 50-11 range.
Josh Battle leads all players with 12 disposals, while Tim Taranto is Richmond’s leading player with nine touches.

In this first quarter, Watson has two, Lewis has two!
The Wizard throws his marker James Tresize into hysterics, who panics and fouls a free kick in a marking competition.
Hawthorn currently have 17 players aged around 50, while Richmond have eight. This match is shaping up to be absolutely uncompetitive so far.

Green interferes with Lynch and the achievement of a certain goal
Oh no, an absolute comedy of errors in the Richmond front line!
They are outnumbered as Tom Lynch pushes Tom Barrass under the ball and prepares to score a goal in the goal area, only to be spoiled by his teammate as Steely Green comes around the corner to try and score a goal himself.
Soon after, Patrik Reczko missed a set shot straight ahead 45 meters from goal, leaving the Tigers at 0.3 for the day.

Lewis scores after Greaves’ spin cycle
Mitch Lewis scored two goals in the first quarter after taking a great shot in heavy traffic!
Good work early on from Ollie Greaves, who broke free from a tackle before handling the ball.
The Hawks have high hopes for Greaves, who was highly regarded as a junior but fell badly in last year’s draft.

Lewis scores back-to-back goals for Hawks
There’s a smoother transition play here from the Hawks as they string together a series of handballs before Connor McDonald finds Mitch Lewis for a short lead.
Lewis takes a standard throw from 40 meters at a tricky angle.
So far, things are going very smoothly for the Hawks. They have 52 sales to Richmond’s 33.

Watson strikes first blow to return Hawthorn
Nick Watson is on the board early on as he executes a nice low-angle set shot.
Great synergy between Jack Gunston, Jack Ginnivan and Watson, as Gunston and Ginnivan essentially acted as decoys, creating a space for Watson to enter.
Unfortunately, you don’t see enough of this kind of thing. This is the sign of a really good team that is on the same page.

Hawks take over territory early
Hawthorn have Richmond pinned in their own defensive half right now.
Richmond’s mid-season player Kai Annan scored a big one-on-one win after Josh Weddle sent a long ball from 50 meters towards Mitch Lewis.
An inside score of 50 means the score is 5-1 in favor of Hawthorn.

Prestia gives Richmond lead in 250th match

Fantastic scenes at the MCG as Dion Prestia leads the Tigers through the banner ahead of his 250th career game.
Prestia is one of the few remaining players from Richmond’s three premierships and has now gone from star midfielder in those teams to old boss, guiding the young players around him.
It really was the perfect moment in his career when he joined Richmond at the end of 2016, leaving a downtrodden Gold Coast side for a team that was on the verge of winning big.
Prestia made 155 of his 250 career appearances in Richmond colours.

Team news Richmond – Hawthorn – no late changes
Both Richmond and Hawthorn will line up with their original line-up at the MCG this afternoon.
Some important news for the Tigers from last week: Sam Lalor, Jayden Short And Steel green replace Ben Miller, Jasper Alger And Zane Peuker.
Hawthorn also made three changes from last week’s team. Josh Weddle, Josh Battle And Nick Watson replacement Karl Amon, Will Day And Matt Hill.

We’ve got three more matches lined up to round off Round 19 this Sunday, with all the action starting at the MCG as Richmond take on Hawthorn at 1:10pm.
The second match of the day is a blockbuster with huge finals implications as Gold Coast hosts the Western Bulldogs at Carrara Stadium from 3.15pm.
The Round 19 final will then take place at Docklands Stadium, with Essendon taking on the GWS Giants from 4:40pm.
