Apple starts selling iPhone for $419

Apple recently added the iPhone 16e to its refurbished store, with US pricing starting at $419 for the 128GB model.

iPhone 16e
Originally launched in February 2025, iPhone 16e is a budget device with a 6.1-inch OLED display, an A18 processor with 8GB of RAM to support Apple Intelligence, a single 48-megapixel rear camera, a 12-megapixel front-facing camera, a USB-C port, an action button, and more. On the downside, the device lacks MagSafe.

With a starting price of just $419, the refurbished iPhone 16e is currently the cheapest iPhone Apple sells directly. The device cost $599 when it first launched, so refurbished models are at least $180 off.

Apple’s refurbished iPhones are unlocked, come with a new battery, a new outer case, and a simple box with a USB-C cable. The devices are also covered by Apple’s one-year limited warranty and are eligible for extended AppleCare+ or AppleCare One coverage. Apple says its refurbished products are thoroughly cleaned and tested, and in our opinion, they are more or less indistinguishable from brand new devices.
