Although we still haven’t seen anything close to a full-scale trailer for this winter. Avengers: Judgment Daypromotions begin to wane. The film’s first official cast was unveiled this week, featuring nearly every major character in the new Avengers lineup. Or rather, several groups similar to the Avengers came together.

It’s horrible. The graphics are terrible to begin with, but even though we knew who was in the cast, seeing them in one location compared to the last four Avengers films in the “good old days” of the MCU is pretty brutal. It’s hard to even know where to start, but there are problems in almost every aspect.

Steve Rogers – Chris Evans returns as the man in the black T-shirt holding Mjolnir, one of the film’s best moments. Avengers: Endgame turned into a permanent part of his character because he gave away his shield and uniform. First of all, he shouldn’t have come back and he certainly shouldn’t have looked like this.

Sam Wilson Captain America – It’s clear that Marvel doesn’t trust Anthony Mackie’s version of Captain America to lead this movie after O brave new world, with him possibly being the fourth or fifth most important character in the film, at best, back when Steve and Tony were running the show before.

Doctor Doom – Speaking of Tony, we still have the incredibly strange situation of the Avengers’ second lead actor, Robert Downey Jr., returning to play Doctor Doom. It never stops being weird as everyone is waiting for some kind of explanation for this, if there is one at all, or if he’s just playing two huge characters in the MCU that don’t really have anything to do with each other. Both answers would be strange.

Fantastic Four – The band and especially Reed seem to be getting top billing, even though they’ve only been in one movie before that didn’t quite get fans fired up, no pun intended, “Human Torch.”

Thunderbolts “They made a good, but extremely ineffective film, which means that few viewers watched it.” Yelena has a big role, as Kevin Feige said, but she will never become Black Widow.

Thunderbolts: Not bad

Thor – Well, at least one OG Avenger is back without any weird changes. However, he makes a truly terrible movie with Love and Thunder. Besides, why can’t he grow his hair anymore?

Ant-Man “His films got worse as they went along, and Quantum may actually be the worst MCU movie. He feels slighted when so many big names are missing.

Shang-Chi – I love him, great character, great game. And he’s only starred in one movie, released five full years ago in 2021.

Shuri and M’Baku – Obviously it’s not their fault, but losing Chadwick Boseman as T’Challa really hurt the Wakanda storyline, and by how big they are, you can see on this page how important they will be in the film.

FOX X-Men – God, where to start? We’ve probably said goodbye to this era of the X-Men twice already. Professor X died three times. Channing Tatum’s gambit was supposed to be a one-off joke in Deadpool and Wolverinebut now he’s really here for real. They’re missing some key team members, from Jean Gray to Storm. Just a nightmare.

Who’s missing – Who is not there is almost as big a problem as who is there. Fans are discovering old concept art from the original Kang Dynasty storyline, reminding us that characters like Captain Marvel, Vision, Doctor Strange and Hawkeye (Kate Bishop) are missing from this version of the film. But it is obvious that it goes much deeper. No Hulk, Hulk, Moon Knight, Ms. Marvel, War Machine, Spider-Man, Scarlet Witch, any of the Guardians, any of Netflix’s Defenders like Daredevil, who now has over 40 hours of screen time in the MCU after four seasons of his series.

I’d say it’s probably 90% of them that are more important to include than the 70% that exist The end of the world throw. A big part of the problem is that these characters are often A) lesser named and B) ones who have only been seen once or twice before this movie, at best when so many other characters have a decade or more behind them. It’s horrible.
