Hundreds of Romanian driving licenses found in a landfill in Moldova

In Moldova, tons of plastic and medical waste, as well as a large number of driver’s licenses issued by the Romanian authorities, were found at a landfill in the village of Porumbeni, Criuleni district.

This was reported by “European Truth” with reference to Radio Moldova.

The discovery was reported on July 11 by the non-governmental organization Garda Națională de Mediu, publishing video footage from the scene.

The Environmental Protection Inspectorate responded to the video published on social networks and announced the start of an inspection.

Experts went to the scene to find out the circumstances of the incident and assess possible damage to the environment.

The department clarified that the documents found at the landfill will be transferred to the competent authorities for further verification.

Let us recall that in February last year, Croatian law enforcement officers arrested 10 people suspected of illegal disposal at least 35 thousand tons of hazardous waste from local sources and other countries of the European Union.

It was also reported that the European Court of Human Rights condemned Italy for failing to deal with disposal of toxic wastewhich bring down mafia groups in its southern region of Campania.
